I really don't like unwrapping....





I managed to get most of the easy stuff unwrapped, now for the rest...

I was looking for a tutorial to rig something in Maya and stumbled on this site. A lot of nifty video tutorials are posted on this guys site, definitely a link worth saving. (hence the posting of it on this blog, one of the few places where I can't lose it.)

Quick Sketch..

Updates, Updates

Figured I would post an update since it's been a while. I haven't really worked on much outside of work and most of my sketches are getting posted over at the Sketch Saloon so there really hasn't been much to post. But don't take that as I am not keeping busy... on the contrary I am busier then ever and loving it. I am hoping to get back on track with working on some projects soon, especially getting to that long held off project of revamping my website. So if anyone knows any blog style templates or ways of making a blog site besides using Blogger or Wordpress I would love to hear them.

Passed Out Color

With all my sketches going to the saloon and all my work models being unpostable I haven't had anything to really post on here. Guess I will just have to stick with coloring my doodles till something comes along.

Work has gotten busier so I haven't had time to model. Luckily the current project has a lot of waiting around time while the program calculates so I was able to get some drawing in.

Just another building

Still fixated on this city. Here is a test render of skylight since I was to lazy to try and light this one. I kept the samples low since I only had few minuets to render. I still need to add the stairs in, but that's for another day.

Still stuck on the city thing, so made some more buildings.

I fixed that building and added some textures to make it a bit more interesting. I think I am going to put this aside for a few days and come back to it just so I can think a little on how I want to proceed with the textures and lighting(and so I don't overrun this blog with the same pictures over and over again.)

Modeled some more buildings. Need to go back and fix some issues with the second building to the right.

So I decided to model a city...

I have had this idea I have been perusing for a while now and decided modeling a city might help me with it. I am going to need to test textures with it to try and get a more drawn look for it. I am going to try and post renders as I work on it just because its always fun to look back on things after they are done and see where they came from.

Have been in a modeling mood recently so decided to model something that would be a little easier to texture then the last scene. (I will eventually gather the courage to tackle that Witch Hut) Until then here is the beginnings of a Shishi Odoshi.

Yeah, another post on life...

I know it has been a while since I posted much of anything on here. Not to worry though, this blog has not been forgotten!

The good news is that there are some big changes coming including a new job animating for a nearby company. Ifs nothing quite as showy as animating for TV or advertisements, but at the moment I am not being picky. Hopefully with things finally coming along I can get back on track. The first thing on the agenda is a new website.

Some really old animations

So I went digging around my photobucket and found some really old animation I did back when I was just starting. They are pretty bad... and photobucket chopping up the timing doesn't make them any better...not much worse either.

New Site

I have been wanting to make a new website, mostly because the site I have now is getting really old and the work on there is very out dated. So I decided to try making a new one out of a blog. Not only would it be a bit cheaper to host (I would only need to pay for the url) it would also be a lot easier to update.

I decided to try wordpress first only because I heard that its one of the better blog sites with lots of customization, but after playing with the blog I would up wanting to smash my head into the desk. It was a really pretty site, but small things kept bothering me especially all of the 'upgrades' I would need to get the site I want. So in the end I decided to go back to blogger and have made a decent site. There are still a few things that I wished blogger had that wordpress did, but I am still happy with what I have.

Just a bit of tweaking and moving things around and I may be switching over to this site for my new portfolio site.
